Fourteen new stories, and a sofa that wakes somewhere new each time
Drifting Awake gets fourteen new stories and becomes Smart AR. Each time you look, she wakes somewhere else on her dark sea, among coloured balls, rising bubbles, a full moon or a giant turtle.
A woman on a sofa, a lamp, and a dark sea all around. Drifting Awake now has fourteen new stories, and it has become a Smart AR work: each time you point your phone at it, she drifts somewhere new.
The work’s own story, Fourth Wall and Ocean of Stars now come free. The Jellyfish and the fourteen new ones come in five packs of three, $9.99 each, and every pack you add joins the draw.
Pack I. In The Jellyfish, a jellyfish the size of a room rises out of the dark and lights up all around her. In The Balls, a few coloured balls bob up beside the sofa, then more, until the whole sea is a ball pit and she sinks into it. In The Flying Fish, fish leap out of the water and keep going, a whole shoal climbing into the night sky.
Pack II. In The Pause, the sea goes still as glass, and she leans down to touch it. In The Moon, a full moon rises, sets into the sea, and comes up again as a pool of light under her sofa. In The Sitting Room, a rug, a coffee table, a plant and a window arrive on the water, one by one, until she is at home in the middle of the sea.
Pack III. In The Meadow, grass and little flowers spread out across the water around her. In The Curtain, a thread of light splits the night, opens onto a bright blue morning, and closes again. In The Sea Turtle, a wave breaks over the sofa and leaves a turtle as big as a boat beside it.
Pack IV. In The Shift, a whole day passes in a few seconds: dawn, a white noon, a golden sunset, and night again. In The Dolphin, a dolphin brings back the book she dropped in the sea, waits while she reads, and leaps away. In The Bubbles, bubbles rise from the water, then hundreds, until they fill the sky like stars.
Pack V. In The Ride, a wave rises behind her and the sofa surfs it. In The Falling Stars, stars drop into the sea and glow there, and she scoops one up in her hands. In The Penguin, the sea freezes into floes, she pulls the blanket tight, and a penguin comes to see who is there.
